The above Scout Area are pleased to announce that they are holding the National Scout Sailing Regatta at the above location on the above dates, the Bala club Race officers will run and officiate the race programme on our behalf, the Club has many years of experience running major Sailing events the club is registered with the RYA as a training centre so we will be in good hands. Bala Lake known locally as LLyn Tegid is the largest natural lake in Wales and is a favourite for sailors, its position allows the prevailing south-westerly winds uninterrupted passage along its length, giving length, giving exhilarating sailing, I am also told that September/October are generally the best months for sailing.

Some of the older guys around may recall the years 89 and 90 the last occasion we held the Nationals, same location, I recall the later, rain and flat calm but I do not wish to brag about that one, we just hope you will come again.

I would like to thank Bruce and Margaret Robinson of South Shields for their help and advice helping me to set up this event, their experience is invaluable.

Mid day catering will be available at the Sailing Club, they have catered for large numbers in the past and arrangements can be made again, this will depend on the event take up, Groups will be kept informed and arrangements made accordingly as the event draws nearer.

This will be available approximately 3/4 of a mile from the Bala Sailing Club at PEN-Y-GARTH Caravan & Camping Park, this site caters for campers, touring campers, touring vans and has also some static accommodation for hire, at this moment I am awaiting prices and as soon as known this web site will be updated with the information, the static accommodation proved very popular on the last two occasions we staged this event ,arrangements regarding the above will be individually booked direct by partaking groups. Click HERE to visit Pen-Y-Garth's website.

Will be arranged for the Saturday evening by way of a Disco, I will need to research the drinks situation all of course depending on event take up.
